Their relationship went sour, and they parted ways. Marquise's mother was given custody of him in October 2008, and she filed a $50 million lawsuit against 50 Cent after their separation.

Marquise voiced his displeasure via an Instagram live chat about how inadequate the $6700 in child support payments sent to his mother each month were in light of the high expense of living in New York City.
